Frequently asked questions

Why are my WordPress emails not sending or going to spam?

Because WordPress uses PHP’s mail() function by default, which most hosts handle poorly or block. SMTP Overrider replaces it with a proper authenticated connection so your mail is delivered reliably.

Does this work on my host?

Yes – it is designed to work on every host, including ones that block common mail ports or disable mail(). If one method is restricted, you can switch to another that works.

Does my email go through your servers?

No. Email sends directly from your own mailbox – via your SMTP server, or optionally the Gmail API or Microsoft Graph. Nothing routes through us.

Do I have to set up a Google or Microsoft app?

No. The simplest path is a provider preset with a username and app password – no app setup at all. OAuth connect is optional.

Is my password stored safely?

Yes. Passwords and tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC keyed off your site’s security salts.
